Dakota Now

Dakota is now two. His birthday party was (surprisingly) a big success. He got this cool bouncy thing (people of my generation know it as a Moon Walk) and the kids loved it. Advice Column Emily and her two kids spent the weekend with us and it was a lot of fun. We're hoping that Dakota & her daughter Drew will get married eventually. :-)

The child has more energy than you can imagine. He's always jumping and climbing and running and falling and spinning. Most things in our home have become gymnastics equipment. He's always under, on, in or leaping off of something. When he's not running around, he likes to play with his Little People, draw on his easel, have stories read to him, and drive his Hot Wheels around every available surface. And he takes his clothes off every time you turn your back for more than a minute. (That's a man for you!)

His favorite food is still (amazingly) broccoli but he also loves fish sticks, chicken, french fries, grilled cheese, noodles, pop tarts, and of course, snacks of all types. And although he's a little wild at times, he can be sweet too and will "give kisses" (occasionally unprompted) and he likes to snuggle up with you on the couch with his blanket. (Which he calls his "ket.") And every so often, he's sweet to his brother too!
